Do you really need one to put kits together? Nope, definitely
not. Does it make it easier? Yes. If you plan on
making a lot of pens, and don't feel comfortable using a rubber mallet or
hammer to tap the pieces together, this is the way to go.
I
have never found that I needed one, but it would have been nice to
have. (What a salesman I am!)
